OPPORTUNITIES FOR FAMILIES 

Reiche & Portland Stage 

 Community Partnership 
Grades 3-5 in Hybrid Model 

Join Portland Stage for theater-based programming including  games, acting exercises, performing, writing, arts & crafts, and  more. Portland Stage staff will also provide time & support for remote school work.  

Hours: 

 Group A | Tues & Fri | 8:30-4:30 

Group B | Mon & Thurs | 8:30-4:30  

at Portland Stage 25A Forest Avenue

MUSEUM & THEATRE / PPS AFTER SCHOOL CARE
In collaboration with Portland Public Schools, the Museum & Theatre is excited to offer after school care from 1:30-4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from September 14th-October 14th.
Please fill out the following form to register.
The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine is located at 142 Free Street in Portland. For more information about the Museum & Theatre visit www.kitetails.org

The program will take place in the Museum & Theatre's backyard exhibit, covered back deck, and 1st floor Playscape (converted into an open classroom space). The program is limited to 12 children per day to ensure social distancing and exhibit playtime will be limited to outdoors to keep everyone safe. Students will explore science, theatre, art activities that will be adapted based on the interests of the group.

Childcare is free to Portland Public School students; aid for by CARES Act funding from Portland Public School.

Reiche Families ~ Important Update:

Starting September 14, 2020, Reiche is no longer a family meal distribution center. 

The NEW meal distribution sites are Portland, Casco Bay & Deering Highschools and Talbot Community School (pick-up time: 1:00-2:00 PM).
All other meal pick-up locations posted on the Portland Schools "Food Resources in the Community" webpage are no longer in service. 

We encourage all Reiche families to visit the new PPS "FAQ" page for answers to the most common questions families have asked about the 2020-2021 school reopening and to visit
 the PPS Covid-19 Webpage for a wide range of PPS family support resources.

The Learning Works Aim High program hosts a team of AmeriCorps Members who serve as tutors and mentors in classrooms and extracurricular programs. The Aim High team is comprised of adults of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences so, whether you are a parent, a grandparent, or simply a caring community member, you can make a huge difference in the lives of Reiche students by joining.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE INITIAL 2020-2021 PRE-K LOTTERY ARE ACCEPTED FROM JANUARY 2 THROUGH JANUARY 17, 2020!


If you live in Portland and your child will be
4 years old by October 15, 2020, he or she is eligible for the Portland Public Schools Pre-Kindergarten program in the 2020-2021 school year.


To complete an online English or translated 2020-2021 Pre-K lottery application form please visit the
 Portland Public Schools "School Enrollment" page.
Our school secretary is happy to assist with completing the application on the Reiche School Kiosk. 

The initial lottery for the 2020-2021 Pre-K program will take place after January 17, 2020. You will be notified if your child has been accepted into the program and will receive enrollment instructions at that time.

2020-2021 Kindergarten   
To be eligible for Kindergarten your child must be 5 years old by October 15, 2020. Kindergarten registration is done online via the
"School Enrollment" webpage of the Portland Public Schools website or on the online Registration Kiosk in your neighborhood elementary school.*

To complete both Pre-K and Kindergarten registration processes the following documents need to be presented to the school: 
original proof of birth, the child's immunization record, and proof of residency.  

*For detailed information about enrolling your child in the Portland Public Schools and to locate your neighborhood elementary school please visit the PPS home page @ www.portlandschools.org, select "School Enrollment" under "Families".

If you speak a language other than English and would like assistance with your online registration you may call the PPS Multilingual Center to make an appointment (874-8135).

Maine Govt. Walking School Bus Program Logo

The Reiche "Walking School Bus" is a great way to get Reiche's 4th & 5th graders, who no longer qualify for bussing, to school . . . safely, on time and with adult support! Adults leave Reiche School at 7:50 a.m. each morning. Won't you join us!
