Planning for the 20-21 School Year
Below are links to the letters Portland Public Schools families have received this summer from Superintendent Xavier Botana in an effort to keep everyone up-to-date on district plans for the upcoming school year.

The July 8 letter includes updates and details several scenarios for resuming school in the fall and the PPS family survey results. PPS families are also encouraged to participate in a (multi-lingual) survey from the Maine Department of Education to make their voices heard. Here is the link: https://www.maine.gov/doe/fall2020survey
The survey is translated in many languages, it closes on July 12th at 8:00 p.m.

"End of Year" Attendance

Sun school ended on Friday, June 12. We took attendance only for students who were invited to Sun School. Sun School functioned as a type of summer school. The district tracked Sun School attendance through the Infinite Campus portal.  Families who continued to access remote learning activities outside Sun School were not considered absent even though Infinite Campus marked them as absent.

Click on this link to read the Reiche "End of Year" letter outlining our Reiche plans for "Sun School" (June 1-12). The 5/19/20 Family Letter from Superintendent Bontana informed all PPS elementary school parents about "Sun School".
