Welcome to Third Grade!

Mrs. Bobinsky and Mrs. Becker are planning an exciting 2007 - 2008 school year. Our year long focus will be the City of Portland. We will learn about its history, geography, outstanding citizens, commerce, and transportation.
In reading, we will continue to work on consolidating strategies, refining fluency, comprehension, and developing a love of reading.
In writing, we will begin the year focusing on poetry. We will concentrate on poetic verses, scientific language, narrowing the topic, concise word choice, and sharpening our observation skills.
In math, we will begin the year reviewing the Second Grade skills, moving into Third Grade mathematical thinking.
We look forward to growing as a classroom community and continuing our work with your children.
